Stephen Ascher, Jr., Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, is responsible for the long-term vision and strategic direction of Miramar Brands Group, Inc., The Crown Brands, Miramar®, Omnichanel™, American Riviera Brands, LLC and Omnichannel World, LLC.
Mr. Ascher originally founded The Crown Brands (Miramar®, Sideout®, King of the Beach®, Queen of the Beach®, King of the Court®, Queen of the Court®, King of the Snow®, Queen of the Snow™ and Havuk™) from along the golden shores of California’s American Riviera at Miramar Beach in 1984.
From June 1984 until November 1997, Mr. Ascher served as Chairman of Sideout Sport, Inc.’s Board of Directors and as its Chief Executive Officer and President since the Company’s formation. From November 1997 through November 2003, Mr. Ascher served as Corporate Senior Executive Vice President, President of Sideout® and President of New Business Development for Cherokee, Inc. (Nasdaq:CHKE).
Mr. Ascher is the original founder of Omnichanel™, Miramar®, The Crown Brands, Havuk®, and Sideout®.
Mr. Ascher received a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Business from the University of California at Berkeley in 1984, where he played NCAA college volleyball as a setter for two club National Championship teams.
For 32 years, Mr. Ascher has been a member of Young President’s Organization/World President’s Organization (YPO-WPO) in both the San Gabriel Valley and Global One Chapters. Mr. Ascher is now a member of the YPO San Gabriel Valley 49’ers.
Mr. Ascher enjoys traveling, is a sports enthusiast, artist and photographer. He is passionate about reading, writing, health and wellness, skiing, heli-skiing, cross-country skiing, back country skiing and hiking, fly-fishing, mountain biking, golf, boating and surfing. Mr. Ascher is deeply spiritual and Catholic. He enjoys spending time with his grown children, family, two golden retrievers Cody and Knox and friends.
