MIRAMAR Brands Group, Inc., headquartered in Pasadena, California, is a leading, privately held independent brand management, Direct ChannelSM licensing, consulting, celebrity and media marketing and design company founded by Stephen Ascher, Jr., founder and creator of the Miramar, Sideout®, King of the Beach® and Havuk® brands. MIRAMAR’s Montecito Brands division, headquartered in Montecito, California, is the Media and Celebrity focused arm of the company.
MIRAMAR’s executive team has over 50 years of combined experience in developing, marketing and manufacturing some of the most powerful brands in the world. MIRAMAR executives have been responsible for representing and executing some of the largest Direct ChannelSM global wholesale and retail licensing transactions in the industry for its clients. MIRAMAR engineered the three largest direct channel retail license transactions in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 for its clients. MIRAMAR’s brand partners include Quiksilver®, Inc. (Nasdaq: ZQK) and its Tony Hawk® Clothing Brand, Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK.A), Fruit of the Loom®, Russell Brands, Spalding, our wholly owned King of the Beach® brand, Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S., Lagardere Active Media (Euronext-Paris) and its ELLE®, ELLE Décor, and Metropolitan Home brands, as well as American Brand Holding’s Hang Ten® Brand. Stephen Ascher, Jr.
Stephen Y. Ascher, Jr. has served as Chairman of Miramar Brands Group, Inc's Board of Directors and as its Chief Executive Officer and President since the Company's Founding in June 2004. From November 1997 through November 2003, Mr. Ascher served as Executive Vice President and head of New Business Development for Cherokee, Inc. (Nasdaq:CHKE). From June 1983 until November 1997, Mr. Ascher served as Chairman of Sideout Sport, Inc.’s Board of Directors and as its Chief Executive Officer and President since the Company’s Founding. Mr. Ascher is the Founder and creator of the MiramarTM, MiramarmarineTM, King of the Beach®, Havuk®, and Sideout® brands. Mr. Ascher received a Bachelor of Arts degree in international business from the University of California at Berkeley in 1984.
